Attended the SWAY PD before school.
SWAY can be used to create and share interactive reports, presentations, personal stories and newsletters. You can complete a SWAY quickly; use interactive content; just drag and drop images, videos and tweets, directly onto your work. It gives you some basic research on your topic; is easily formatted and shared. Too short a time to come to grips with this new tool but it looks ideal for use in the classroom. Told it would be good to leave as relief as the students can make a thorough job on a topic in one lesson, if computers are available. No doubt it will replace Powerpoint. Will need to practice more with it before I can incorporate it into any lessons.
Had my lap top and I pad connected up to the KKHS system which now gives me the ability to do rolls on-line and get general school information. Had a reliever in one of my target classes. Helped him locate relief notes and did the roll for him on-line. Helped the students with their problems. Reliever advised to keep the students on track by calling them up and then mark their work, using the answers in the back of the book. If they are not on task you can set them a goal for the next 10 minutes. Good strategy which I can use in the future.  (See period 3 Relief Sheet in photos).
Kim had students working on A4 sized white boards with their own felt pens and sponge cleaner. All gathered at the front. Again, a great technique as long as you have the equipment at hand.

Maths department meeting after school. Co-construction meeting scheduled to discuss the progress of our Maori students.
