Joined the staff meeting, run by the principal, to keep abreast of all that is happening in the school. It’s a time for information sharing amongst the teachers.
Form time with 7SAI. Focus on N who had just returned from competing in a motorcycle event.
9DRB in computer room working on relationship (2 numbers) data to produce a scatter graph. Exercise made easier by using nz grapher/ jake4maths web site. Creates the graph which student take a screen shot(found under Insert on the tool bar) of and save on a word document. Great tool This leaves the students more time to analyse and comment upon the graph they have created. All students working at their own pace with assistance from Kim and I when required.
9TAN Given stats revision sheet. Encouraged to help one another in their groups. Gave O more time than others as he struggles with maths. Otherwise, helped anyone who required assistance. Class used the whole period well with no one restless or off task.



7SAI Students put into pairs to work on written problems. Teacher knows class dynamics and was able to match up the students to the benefit of all. Three least able students, Z amongst them, she took at the front of the class. Was able to spend some time with Z to find out personal details to include in his profile notes. He was open and helpful. Loves the outdoors and all sports. Has had a difficult family life. No interest in reading and has poor maths skills. I look forward to helping him get more confidence in working with numbers and other mathematical challenges.
